Crochet Fingerless Mittens

Learn how simple crochet stitches can make a pair of fingerless mittens that resemble the look of knitting. Included is a way to crochet cables for the thumb holes.

In the first class students will learn how to do the back loop slip stitch and to use 2 colors of yarn. In the second class the cable techniques and the seaming instructions.

Supplies:

  • 2 contrasting colors of yarn in a fingering or DK weight (size 2 or 3). Skeins should be ready to pull from (center-pull, ball or cake)
  • 2 crochet hooks in sizes 3.25 mm-3.75mm or a pointy Kollage crochet hook in similar sizes
  • Paper and pencil for note taking
  • Pattern available for $7
All supplies are available in store or at our online shop.

You are welcome to take photos/videos of me demonstrating each step of this pattern and just ask that you keep them for personal use and don’t post them on the internet.

It is expected that you already know how to make a chain stitch as well as single, half double and double crochet. Just so you can recognize and count your stitches. These are very basic stitches. If you haven’t crocheted in awhile, no worries, I will be demonstrating everything.
