Slow Stitching Circle
A journey to unplug, slow down and learn somthing old.
Learning various techniques for hand sewing quilt blocks. An ongoing class meeting once a month.
Working from the book, "Hand Sewing" by Becky Goldsmith (required), each month your instructor will demonstrate the technique for the day, help students prepare their materials and do some of the sewing.
Supplies:
- Fabric or wool for the month's project
- sharp scissors
- template plastic and/or freezer paper
- glue stick or pen
- variety of needles for hand applique and crewel needles for wool applique
- approximately 3 to 4 yards background fabric
- sandpaper board
- sharp pencil for tracing templates
- Variety of fabrics for applique and piecing or wool for applique
- Matching threads for appllique
- Small sharp straight pins
- Thimble (optional)
