Beginning Starch Method Appliqué
In this class, students will learn the basics of the "starch-method" preparation for hand appliqué. The basic hand stitch for appliqué will also be taught. If you have been using another method of preparing your appliqué pieces you may want to try the starch method. If you are new to appliqué, I recommend starting here.
Students will prepare appliqué pieces and begin stitching a simple floral design featuring a flower with inside points and curved edges, a bias stem, and several leaves. A pillow can be made with four of the blocks.
