Seam Finishes

Learn how to make the inside of your project as beautiful on the inside as it is on the outside!  From pillowcases and duvet covers to garments of any size, every exposed seam should be finished neatly so it doesn't unravel the first time you wash it.  You will learn and practice 12 different seam finishes, and at the end of class you'll go home with a wonderful resource to look back on when you are planning your next project.

Skill Level: Beginner
Skill Details: Prerequisite: Basic machine sewing knowledge or our "Foundations of Sewing" class
Instructor: Erin Morrison
Instructor Bio: Erin has been sewing since childhood, but it wasn't until she attended The Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising (FIDM) and graduated with a degree in Fashion Design that she really understood sewing and garment construction. Lately, Erin has been working towards a fully home sewn wardrobe and sharing her experience with the sewing community on Instagram. This year, she has started a You Tube channel with the main focus on sustainable sewing and creative refashioning, all in an effort to be a good steward of the Earth. She hopes to motivate and empower other people to make their own clothes and to accept their wonderful bodies as they are today. Instagram @theclotheserinsews You Tube :
