Alden Lane Nursery is a full service garden center with a wonderful selection of plant materials and garden accessories. Our centuries-old valley oak trees provide the perfect backdrop for beautiful quilts. Each morning of the show the quilts are hung from lines that go from tree to tree. One of the pioneers of contemporary quiltmaking and the innovator of two new genres, Joen’s landscape quilts, innovative log cabin quilts, and free-flowing curved-pieced quilts have brought her international acclaim. Joen has authored twelve books and many products.
Melinda Bula
Her Fabulous Fusible Flowers quilts are unique. With the wonderful look of a painting, she uses fabric and thread to create beautifully artistic quilts. Her sense of color and design has won her numerous awards for both quilts and wearable arts. Whether it is fabric, wallpaper or quilts, creating and designing is Melinda’s passion.

Neutral Essentials
with Alex Anderson
Thursday, Sept.25, 9am to 4pm
Join Alex Anderson as she explains what it takes to make a successful neutral quilt. In addition to fabric basics, Alex will teach you accurate piecing as well as machine applique, using her quilt “Daisy Chain” as the class example. Of course you can make any quilt you wish–the choice is yours! Sign up early as this class is sure to sell out. Maximum of 28 students. Lunch included, $85.

Learn how to create the stunning Coneflower Quilt, from the cover of Melinda’s new book “Cutting Garden Quilts.” Use a simple paint-by-numbers process to create a breathtaking floral quilt! Maximum of 20 students. Lunch included, $65.
Vintage Linen Wholecloth Workshop
with Cindy Needham
Friday, Sept. 26 , 9am-4pm
Cindy will offer a one-of-a-kind workshop to help you to create your own unique heirloom. The workshop will start with a hands-on lecture where she will teach you how to deal with stains and holes, special designing issues,as well as basting and binding techniques. She will have a large collection of vintage linen quilts to inspire you and will have a large stash of stencils available for your use. Maximum of 20 students. Lunch included, $75.

Join Cindy from Superior Threads for a fun, informative and very hands-on program where she will teach you how to choose and use all kinds of thread for your machine quilting. Learn to successfully use decorative threads and how to audition threads for your quilting. A detailed handout as well as a small goodie bag is provided. The $25 fee must be paid in advance.
